We are seeking a Medical Data Entry Clerk to join our team based in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. The role involves meticulous handling of medical record data, including collection, tracking, reconciliation, and analysis. The Medical Data Entry Clerk will also interact with various departments and respond to information requests, ensuring accurate and efficient record management. This job offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Collecting, tracking, and reconciling patient medical record information from various departments or nursing units post patient discharge.
• Serving as an information resource by responding to requests for general and medical record information received via phone, e-mail, fax, or in person.
• Retrieving records per request for patient care, studies, committees, and other requests, liaising with other departments as necessary.
• Prepping, assembling, scanning, indexing, and filing records for document storage and/or imaging following facility guidelines.
• Analyzing patient charts for physician deficiencies according to facility guidelines/bylaws.
• Assisting physicians with chart completion and suspension processes, including validating chart deficiencies, communicating with Providers regarding their incomplete records, and assisting with distribution of reports, letters, and statistics related to delinquent medical records.
• Accessing EMR (electronic medical records) system to support record completion, coding, release of information, and overall management and maintenance of the legal health record.
• Performing data collection and submission of information for birth certificate filing.
• Utilizing various skills such as CRM, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, and Cerner Technologies for efficient job function.• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in using Cerner Technologies
• Knowledge and experience in CRM
• Familiarity with Billing Functions in a medical setting
• Experience in Claim Administration
• Ability to work with EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
• Proven track record in handling Medical Records
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
