We are in search of a Medical Data Entry Clerk to join our team in the healthcare industry. Based in Bay City, Michigan, you will be tasked with managing patient medical records, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and assisting in the administration of electronic medical records (EMR). This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately collect, track, and reconcile patient medical record information from various departments post patient discharge.
• Efficiently process, assemble, scan, index, and file records for document storage and/or imaging following facility guidelines.
• Act as a resource for general and medical record information, responding to requests received via phone, email, fax, or in person.
• Retrieve patient records per request for patient care, studies, committees, and other requests, coordinating with other departments as needed.
• Analyze patient charts for physician deficiencies according to facility guidelines and assist with physician chart completion and suspension processes.
• Validate chart deficiencies and communicate with healthcare providers regarding their incomplete records.
• Assist in the distribution of reports, letters, and statistics related to delinquent medical records.
• Access and manage the electronic medical record (EMR) system to support record completion, coding, release of information, and overall maintenance of the legal health record.
• Perform data collection and submission of information for birth certificate filing.
• Utilize CRM and Billing Functions to maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications.• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a related role
• Proficiency in Cerner Technologies is required
• Must have experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Proven experience with Billing Functions within a healthcare setting
• Experience with Claim Administration is necessary
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is a must
• Ability to handle and manage Medical Records effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Must respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
