Job Summary:
Just Play is seeking an Accounting Associate to join our team. This individual will have a hand in several critical accounting functions, collaborating with Finance Management. To ensure success as an Accounting Associate the ideal candidate will be a passionate team player that can effectively manage multiple tasks. Principal Responsibilities:
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes
- Process payables
- Process cash receipts
- Perform reconciliations related to inventory
- Assist in filing VAT/GST statements
- Maintain an accurate record of prepaid expenses
- Manage Fixed Assets ledger
- Review transactional data for accuracy and consistency
- Assist in the collection process
- Maintain Chart of Accounts
- Assist in the budgeting process across multiple departments
- Utilize ERP system to manage budget, forecast and finance information
- Process expense reports and corporate card reconciliations
- Support system and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy including Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation
- Review audit reports to identify issues with ERP system data to ensure data integrity
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years related accounting / finance experience preferred
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
- Fluency in Spanish preferred
- Passion for problem solving and business process improvement
- Strong work ethic, high level of motivation, willingness to learn quickly
- Excellent systems, technology, and analytical skills
- Ability to demonstrate competent self-reliance and resourcefulness
- Ability to multi-task while delivering accurate results
- Advanced Excel skills required; Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with ERP systems, databases
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
