Ascent Healthcare is a growing medical practice in the Pacific Northwest that specializes in patient care within Skilled Nursing Facilities and Residential Physical Rehabilitation Centers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate, self motivated, full-time medical billing specialist that aspires to be a part of our expanding company. Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor the company’s accounts receivable balances by identifying collection issues and contacting patients.
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures; reporting compliance issues.
- Post electronic charges, patient statements, payments, notes and other related information to insurance plans.
- Work and communicate with peers, patients and payers regarding accounts receivable.
- Verify CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and/or modifiers to accurately reflect documented services.
- Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements.
- Submit insurance claims to payers and process rejected claims by sending an appeal and/or reconsideration letter.
- Verify patients eligibility, coverage, benefits and identify managed care authorization requirements.
Position Qualifications and Skills:
- At least three (3 - 5) years experience in a fast paced medical billing environment.
- Must have a working knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and hospice billing.
- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes for both the state of Oregon and Washington.
- Customer service driven with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional and ethical standards of conduct.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality and record keeping.
- Must be comfortable navigating through a variety of software programs and insurance websites.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and ability to problem solve.
- Credentialing knowledge experience is a plus.
Ascent provides a generous compensation & benefit package along with a welcoming environment. This position is full-time with working hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All candidates are subject to pre-employment drug testing, a background check and must have a valid driver’s license/personal transportation to attend off site meetings when necessary.
