Certified Medical Biller & Coder Spring Hill

If you’re a people person who wants to support the success of a medical office, then this job is for you. We are seeking a Certified Medical Biller & Coder to become an integral part of our team! You will compile data, compute charges, and prepare invoices. Codes diagnoses and procedures utilizing the coding systems on an automated encoder/grouper program. Accurately abstracts key data elements from patient records for data reporting purposes.

Our Board-Certified dermatologists specialize in diseases of the skin, skin cancer, psoriasis therapy, and ultraviolet light therapy, as well as a variety of cosmetic procedures. We take great pride in the personal, one-on-one attention we give to our patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Detail-oriented
• Accounts Receivable / A/R Specialist experience required
• Researching and appealing denied claims
• Work aging and denied claim reports to obtain payment
• This includes follow-up, filing appeals, and a general understanding of the claims process
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements when filing appeals
• High volume specialist with multiple providers/locations
• Accounts Payable Specialist
• Pays close attention to detail and accuracy
• Pulls remits from multiple sites and applies to accounts
• Processes credit card payments from Insurance companies
• Maintains bank deposit, direct deposit, and credit card logs
• Processes refund requests from patients and insurance companies
• High volume specialist with multiple providers/locations
• HIPAA compliant

Job Qualifications

• Completion of an approved coding certificate program.
• 1+ years of recent experience coding in a dermatology or medical care setting is required. Experienced with Modernizing Medicine (EMA) or similar system preferred.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• Previous experience in medical billing, finance, or other related fields
• Experience in data entry
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
