Accounts Payable Specialist

Serengeti Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in Washington. In this key financial role, you will manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring that vendor payments are processed accurately and on time while supporting financial reporting and compliance. You will also collaborate with our payroll and accounting teams to provide financial insights and assist in managing company cash flow.

Key Responsibilities
- Process, code, and post invoices and credit notes, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile purchase orders with invoices and perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding creditor issues with vendors and internal teams.
- Manage the end-to-end supplier payment process, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Prepare payment forecasts and cash flow projections for management.
- Ensure all accounts payable activities comply with financial policies and internal controls.
- Provide support to payroll and accounting teams as needed, particularly during audits and month-end closing processes.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and resolve any payment disputes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding complex financial matters.
- Prior experience with financial reporting and cash flow projections is a plus.
