Rousso Adams Facial Plastic Surgery is hiring a full-time front desk medical receptionist that will also serve as a front desk lead. This person must be bubbly and energetic and must be able to multi-task in a rapid pace environment. This job also requires a great deal of computer and communication skills. They must have excellent customer service skills and must be calm under pressure. This job requires the ability to retain knowledge of our procedures, the doctor's credentials, and pricing.
Duties Include:
- Check in and/orout patients
- Schedule patient apppointments
- Operate a multi-line phone system (main job)
- Responsible for educating and addressing all patient inquiries (scheduling, cosmetic consultations, financial policy and payment obligations)
- Register new patients,verify and update demographic & insurance information (if relevant) of established patients & direct patients to the appropriate team member
- Monitor reception area and patient flow, notify patients of delays
- Ensure appointments are confirmed 48 hours in advance and follow-up on unconfirmed appointments
- Maintain all provider schedules
- Collect payments for consultations, procedures, skin care and spa service
- Sale skincare products and inform patients about specials at check-in
- Sign patients up for loyalty programs and memberships
- Work with manager to communicate changes to others working the front desk

Requirements for this role include:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven knowledge of medical/insurance terminology
- Track record of absolute intolerance for tardiness, absenteeism and professionally immature behavior
- Overwhelming appreciation for proper maintenance of medical records & adherence to HIPAA and other related policies
- Demonstrated experience preparing and maintaining patient records
- Proven ability to multi-task and perform in a high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians & other staff members
- Working knowledge and understanding of clinical organization structure, workflow & operating procedures
- A history of excellence in communication: active listening, & problem-solving
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication strength
- Proven ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals
- Proven experience with proactive customer service and service recovery
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Basic knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques
- Working knowledge of medical billing procedures
- Working knowledge of procedures and documentation of managed care & third-party medical insurance payers
- Must manage a patient tracking system that is updated daily
- Must be highly detail oriented
Plastic Surgery and/or dermatology practice experience and knowledge of skin care products and procedures a plus.
