We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in the healthcare industry. The role is based in Rochester, New York, and will require interaction with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance providers. As the first point of contact, you will be instrumental in forming impressions and providing service over the phone and in-person.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, both over the phone and in-person
• Manage patient inquiries and provide appropriate solutions
• Process customer applications with accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Monitor patient accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary
• Utilize basic medical terminology in daily tasks
• Handle electronic medical records (EMR) efficiently
• Offer support to healthcare professionals as needed
• Provide solutions to insurance providers regarding patient accounts• Must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Understanding of Basic Medical Terminology is required.
• Experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records is essential.
• Previous work experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) is required.
• Must possess excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially is required.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are needed.
• Demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, if required.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are an advantage but not mandatory.
• Must comply with all health and safety regulations.
