Benefits Specialist
LHH is assisting with a search for a Benefits Specialist for a local Company in Overland Park, KS. This job will work on-site and you will be responsible for leave of absence support, benefits support and employee wellness initiatives. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of benefits management experience. This is a contract opportunity with potential to go permanent for the right person. Pay starts at $30/hour and goes up based on experience. Read below for additional details!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leave of Absence Support:
Responsible for day-to-day management of all Leave of Absence requests
Maintain professionalism and compassion while ensuring LOA's are compliant with all applicable policies.
Maintain contact with employees out on LOA to provide ongoing support for their LOA situation and be a point of contact during their LOA and clearly communicate timelines and direction for employee on LOA to ensure proper documentation and a successful return to work.
Maintain communication with Supervisor/Manager of employees leave and verify return to work. Coordinate with HRBP, Supervisor/Manager and legal if necessary for accommodation requests.
Partner with external Vendor Partners and internal/external Legal Counsel as needed to ensure compliance and that employees are compensated correctly.
Provide updates on employee and payment status for all LOAs prior to each semi-monthly payroll processing.
Coordinate with payroll to manage benefits catch-up upon employees return to work.
Benefits Support:
Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and organize periodic informational sessions to keep employees informed about changes or updates to the benefits programs.
Provide professional, administrative support for all benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Spending accounts, STD/LTD, and voluntary benefits (critical illness, hospital indemnity and accident) in conjunction with our broker.
Provides excellent customer service by responding via phone and email to a variety of questions and concerns.
Performs daily administrative tasks including responding to emails and phone calls, processing qualified life events, reviewing, and approving benefit changes in the HRIS system.
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
Develop communications on new plans and policies and communicate new plans, policies as required to employees and HR.
Coordinate annual open enrollment activities; maintain vendor integrations, configure and manage open enrollment in the HRIS, assist with design and compilation of annual benefits guide.
Wellness:
Assist with communication and support of quarterly wellness initiatives.
Coordinate quarterly challenges and events for wellness activities.
Order and distribute wellness awards.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
· At least 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration/management experience including open enrollment and leave management
· Must have Workday software experience within a benefits role
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent self-management as well as project management skills
· Great attention to detail and superior organizational skills
