We are offering an exciting role for a Buyer based in Dallas, Texas, United States, operating within the industry. This role involves coordinating purchasing activities, managing inventory, and utilizing various skills including Enterprise Resource Planning and communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage purchasing activities related to assigned areas/items
• Handle both inventory and non-inventory related materials
• Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning systems, such as Epicor or J.D. Edwards, to streamline purchasing processes
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective buying processes
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
• Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
• Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
• Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
• Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development
• Work with team members and procurement manager to complete duties as needed• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a buyer role or similar position
• Proficient in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like Epicor and J.D. Edwards
• Excellent knowledge of buying processes and accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software is a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability in using ERP Solutions effectively
• Experience as a chef or in a culinary environment would be beneficial
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Proven track record in negotiating and managing contracts
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and forecast market trends.
