My client has a great opportunity for someone looking for a role as the Director of Grant Accounting for their non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. The ideal person selected for the Director of Grant Accounting position will be responsible for assisting the CFO in overseeing the accounting department operations, handling of the federal and private grants, monitoring grant activity, reviewing and preparing grant schedules providing various types of grant analysis, assisting with month-end close duties, assisting with the annual audit, ensuring organization is in compliance with accounting standards and supervising a small team. Daily responsibilities of the Director of Grant Accounting include:
· Oversee the handling and accounting of grants.
· Create grant schedules and monitor activity.
· Assist in month-end close process.
· Assist with the annual single-audit and 990 preparations.
· Prepare grant financial analysis comparisons and reports.
· Reconcile accounts and financial statements.
· Prepare, manage and review budgets.
The ideal Director of Grant Accounting we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:
· 5+ years of grant accounting experience.
· Experience with grants and single audits.
· Capable of managing a team.
· Communicate effectively to leadership.
