SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include but are not limited to, the following):
- Coordinate the development, communication, enrollment and administration of employee benefit programs, including: 401(k), retirement, wellness programs, workers compensation, disability, life insurance, AD&D, reimbursement accounts, etc.
- Maintain knowledge of all State and Federal laws/policies/procedures employee relations and compliance.
- Maintain I-9 – E-Verify files up to date according to federal regulations
- Establish an effective communication program, including coordination of the annual open enrollment process, employee events, and bulletin boards.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
- Review and stay informed of current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
- First point of contact for employees for time and attendance and performance review questions.
- Assist with Recruitment

- New Hire Paperwork
- Onboarding
- Assist with FMLA.
- Ensure all forms documenting leave are complete throughout FMLA leave.
- Track leave usage – to include intermittent leave.
- Adjust leave accrual for the employee on leave.
- Keep HR informed of all FMLA leave requested and status of leave.
- Ensure Fit for Duty authorization is received prior to employee’s return to work.
- Employee Communication
- All communication boards, intranet, portal is update and current
- Prepare Quarterly HR report
- Prepare daily line up
- Filing all documents in timely manner and keeping HR office organized
- Manage and follow up with workers compensation cases
- Manage with Engineering and Security the safety program
Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Principles, practices and techniques of human resources administration, organization and operation.
- Maintenance of Human Resources Information System.
- Recruitment and selection techniques and procedures, including statistical analysis.
- Methods and techniques related to conducting classification and compensation studies.
- Principles and practices of employer-employee relations.
- Principles and practices of salary administration
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business or related field or any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for performing management level duties may be qualifying.
