Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating a stand-up forklift in a food production facility and adjacent warehouse, supporting either production or order picking operations. You safely move materials, handle inventory, and support shipping and receiving activities while following established guidelines and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently in both production and warehouse areas.
- Transport raw materials from the warehouse to production areas to support ongoing manufacturing activities.
- Load skids onto trucks for outbound shipments in accordance with shipping and receiving procedures.
- Pick customer orders accurately and stage them in designated warehouse areas for shipment.
- Manually lift and move boxes weighing approximately 20–30 lbs, and up to 50 lbs when required.
- Perform material handling tasks including pallet movement, stacking, and organization using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Support inventory activities by moving, organizing, and tracking materials and finished goods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving, including unloading incoming materials and loading outbound shipments.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and facility procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area in both the warehouse and food manufacturing facility.
- Communicate effectively in English to follow instructions, read documentation, and coordinate with team members.
- Adhere to all safety rules, equipment operating procedures, and production schedules for assigned shift.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
- Proficiency in stand-up forklift operation, including maneuvering in tight spaces and around production equipment.
- Experience with material handling, including moving pallets, skids, and raw materials.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform order picking tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- English speaking and reading skills sufficient to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and documentation.
- Basic understanding of inventory handling and warehouse processes.
- Ability to follow GMP guidelines and facility rules in a food manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with sit-down forklifts in addition to stand-up forklifts, cherry picker, and reach truck.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and general packaging activities.
- Previous experience working in a food production or manufacturing facility.
- Comfort working in a climate-regulated warehouse and production environment.
- Reliability to work assigned second-shift hours consistently.

Work Environment
You work in a food manufacturing facility with an attached warehouse, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and established safety procedures. The environment is climate regulated, helping maintain comfortable working conditions throughout your shift. The role involves regular use of stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and standard warehouse equipment, along with manual lifting of boxes up to 50 lbs. Available shifts include Production Support from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and Order Picking from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
