Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs for the building, equipment, and facilities, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and overall facilities upkeep. This is a hands-on role that requires working independently on off-shifts, supporting installation and setup of machinery, and proactively identifying tasks that improve operational efficiency and facility reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on facility equipment, including fluid and filter changes, inspections, and basic repairs such as hanging whiteboards and patching walls.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues on production and facility equipment.
- Support the installation and setup of new machinery, including hydraulic systems, plunge grinders, lasers, mills, Swiss machines, lathes, and HVAC-related equipment.
- Assist with maintenance and adjustments on robotics, PLC-controlled systems, and other automated equipment as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and vendors, such as electricians and plumbers, including scheduling and monitoring service calls.
- Proactively identify maintenance needs and complete tasks that support facility upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency without waiting for direct instruction.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to support preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
- Provide professional and courteous support to internal customers by responding promptly to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Hands-on maintenance experience with machinery such as plunge grinders, lasers, mills, Swiss machines, lathes, and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment, including fluid and filter changes and routine inspections.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial environment.
- Ability to support and maintain automation equipment and PLC-controlled systems.
- Experience working with robotics or robotic systems in a maintenance capacity.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors, including scheduling service calls.
- Strong customer service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently on off-shifts as a proactive self-starter who consistently looks for ways to contribute.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical school education or related technical training (preferred).
- Exposure to PLC troubleshooting and basic programming adjustments (nice to have).
- Experience with robotics maintenance and troubleshooting (nice to have).
- Experience in maintaining a variety of industrial machines, including hydraulic systems and automated equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting maintenance activities.
- Comfort working in a fast-growing manufacturing environment with evolving equipment and processes.
