Maintenance Technician Across all Shifts
Shift: 2nd | 3pm to 11:30am (Mon-Fri)
Pay: $30 to $35 an hour + $1.25/hour shift
Job Description:
This role focuses on performing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production equipment and related systems on 2nd shift, with a potential future need on 1st shift. You will use your strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics to keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and within design specifications while supporting continuous improvement and product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities on production and secondary equipment.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
- Communicate potential safety issues to supervision immediately and follow established safety procedures.
- Assist the maintenance lead with reporting, tracking, and maintaining maintenance supplies and records.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to reduce total maintenance costs.
- Support and assist in training equipment operators as directed to ensure proper use and basic care of machinery.
- Perform all maintenance activities in a safe, compliant, and professional manner.
- Repair equipment and facilities to a high standard of quality and reliability.
- Implement and suggest continual improvements, modifications, and ideas to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Verify that polyurethane foam equipment operates within design specifications and adjust as needed.
- Support root cause analysis activities to address product quality issues and reduce scrap.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Use welding, cutting, and grinding techniques to repair tooling and components.
- Operate fabrication and machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, band saws, and welding equipment as needed.
- Perform basic HVAC operation checks and troubleshooting to support facility comfort and equipment performance.
Essential Skills:
- Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, and air distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Capability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and components in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of AC and DC drives and their operation in industrial applications.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic pumps and chemical metering pumps and their maintenance requirements.
- Ability to perform tooling repair using welding, cutting, and grinding methods.
- Basic HVAC operation and troubleshooting skills to support facility systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Commitment to working safely and communicating safety concerns promptly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or working with tier suppliers is a plus.
- Experience with robotics and robotic troubleshooting is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi PLCs and PLC troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Experience with welding and fabrication, including MIG and stick welding.
- Ability to operate mills, lathes, band saws, and related fabrication equipment.
- Experience in maintenance technician roles within a production or industrial setting.
- Comfort working with schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Interest in supporting continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
