Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician supports production equipment and facility operations within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical systems to ensure high equipment uptime and reliable production performance. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, repair machinery, and support facility systems to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure consistent equipment uptime.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on machinery and resolve problems efficiently.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures using root cause analysis (RCA) and implement effective corrective actions.
- Maintain, repair, and adjust conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Support and maintain electrical systems, including basic PLC troubleshooting and automation-related equipment.
- Read and follow basic diagrams, maintenance procedures, and work instructions to complete repair and maintenance tasks accurately.
- Use welding and fabrication skills when needed to repair, modify, or reinforce equipment and structural components.
- Perform tool repair and ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe and reliable working condition.
- Accurately document maintenance activities in CMMS systems and follow OSHA safety standards during all work.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance team members in a team-oriented environment to support daily operations and respond to equipment issues.
- Conduct general facility maintenance tasks as needed, including inspection, repair, and upkeep of building systems and infrastructure.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Hands-on experience working with hydraulics and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Comfort reading basic diagrams and following maintenance procedures and technical instructions.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
- Industrial maintenance experience with exposure to conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and basic PLC troubleshooting within automation environments.
- Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and maintenance history.
- Understanding and application of OSHA safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
