Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionJoin a specialized welding team focused on manufacturing pressure vessels for water filtration systems using carbon and stainless steel. You will perform high-quality MIG and TIG welds on bulk, repeatable products in multiple vessel sizes, working from blueprints and using welding positioners to complete interior and exterior welds through all stages of production. This role combines precision welding with light fabrication tasks to ensure structurally sound, level, and aesthetically clean finished parts.
Responsibilities- Weld pressure vessels for water filtration systems using carbon and stainless steel materials.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on bulk production runs of vessels in 2–3 different sizes.
- Read, interpret, and match blueprints to weld requirements, ensuring accurate layout and fit-up.
- Identify and analyze blueprints to determine weld sequences, joint types, and fabrication needs.
- Carry out pipe welding and weld castings to shells, ensuring strong and consistent joints.
- Execute butt welds and couplings, maintaining proper alignment, level, and squareness.
- Use appropriate material handling equipment to move and stage parts safely for welding.
- Perform welds on a positioner and maintain precise control while welding in various positions.
- Produce level, square, and tight welds, prioritizing structural integrity and visual quality.
- Complete interior and exterior welds through all stages of the vessel manufacturing process.
- Level couplings and butt joints to parts to ensure proper fit, alignment, and function.
- Fabricate necessary parts by grinding, smoothing, and deburring to achieve clean finishes.
- Support manufacturing welding operations by following production schedules and quality standards.
- Inspect completed welds for defects and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures and best practices.
Essential Skills- Previous welding experience of at least 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficient MIG welding skills with the ability to perform consistent production welds.
- Proficient TIG welding skills, including work on carbon and stainless steel materials.
- Demonstrated experience welding on a positioner in multiple positions and orientations.
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret weld symbols and dimensions.
- Ability to perform pipe welding, butt welds, and coupling welds with high accuracy.
- Experience welding structural components and assemblies in a production setting.
- Competence in basic fabrication tasks such as grinding, smoothing, and deburring.
- Ability to use measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify dimensions and fit-up.
- Experience working with sheet metal and structural steel components.
- Capability to produce high-quality, level, square, and tight welds consistently.
- Familiarity with stick welding and fitting techniques in support of welding operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in manufacturing welding environments with repeatable, bulk production work.
- Comfort working from detailed blueprints and production documents.
- Ability to work independently at a steady pace while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, visually appealing welds.
