Job Title: Mig Welders
Job Description
This role focuses on production MIG welding in a manufacturing environment, working primarily on JLG baskets and A-frames. You apply your welding expertise, blueprint reading skills, and attention to detail to produce high-quality welded components and support overall fabrication operations. Candidates must be able to pass a horizontal MIG welding test and a written assessment; those who do not initially pass may start in a laborer capacity while developing the skills needed to meet welding standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on production components, including JLG baskets and A-frames, to meet established quality and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to understand specifications, dimensions, and weld requirements for each job.
- Complete and pass a horizontal MIG welding test and written welding assessment as part of the qualification process.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring proper settings and safe operation.
- Use grinding tools to clean, finish, and prepare welded parts as required for final assembly or further processing.
- Accurately use tape measures and basic math skills to verify dimensions, align components, and confirm tolerances.
- Support fabrication activities by fitting, positioning, and securing workpieces prior to welding.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to support production schedules and team workflow.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in a manufacturing environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Work effectively as part of a production team, communicating clearly and collaborating to meet daily output goals.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
- Capability to pass a horizontal MIG welding test and written welding assessment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including proper bead formation and penetration.
- Experience using grinding tools for finishing and preparation of welded parts.
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately and apply basic math to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Reliable and consistent attendance record in previous roles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in fabrication work, including fitting and positioning components before welding.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production welding environment.
- Willingness to start in a laborer role if welding test requirements are not initially met, with the goal of progressing to a welding position.
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.57 - $23.07/hr.
