Job Title: Material Handler ($19.75/hr.)Job Description
This role supports a busy steel warehouse by accurately picking, staging, and packaging materials for customer orders while operating in a fast-paced, industrial environment. You will train on first shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) for approximately three weeks, then move to a mid shift schedule of 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position requires regular use of computers and inventory systems, strict adherence to work instructions, and the ability to perform physical material handling tasks safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Review pick tickets and identify the correct material grades, sizes, and inventory numbers for each order.
- Locate materials using the company’s inventory system and ensure accuracy of inventory numbers and locations.
- Pull and stage materials for customer orders and outbound shipments in an organized and timely manner.
- Package materials according to company standards and specific customer requirements.
- Use computers to verify inventory locations, update order status, and process order information.
- Perform physical material handling duties, including lifting, moving, and positioning products as required.
- Operate material handling and manufacturing equipment safely in accordance with work instructions.
- Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
- Measure materials accurately using tools such as tape measures to confirm correct sizes and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including regular housekeeping of workstations and aisles.
- Follow all safety policies, including proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Work overtime as needed to meet customer demands and production schedules.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve inventory or order issues and support overall workflow.
Essential Skills
- Previous manufacturing experience (required).
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis.
- Experience operating manufacturing or material handling machinery.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure to verify material sizes.
- Comfort working with steel and in an industrial warehouse environment.
- Ability to document work accurately and use computers for inventory and order processing.
- Reliable transportation and ability to train in Cuyahoga Falls and work in Twinsburg.
- Ownership of steel toe boots and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
