You will handle valuable and potentially fragile raw materials, as well as large finished electrical panels, ensuring safe, organized, and accurate movement and storage of inventory. The environment focuses on meeting deadlines, maintaining organization, and proper storage rather than high quotas, and requires careful forklift operation and precise kitting of materials for customer-specific jobs.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to safely move large electrical control boxes and finished panels, using slow and controlled maneuvers to protect fragile and valuable materials.
- Utilize RF scanners and basic computer systems to track, locate, and transact inventory movements accurately within electronic inventory tracking systems.
- Lift, move, and stage boxes and raw materials to assigned inventory locations in an organized and efficient manner.
- Process incoming materials by confirming part numbers and quantities against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Stage materials in designated inventory locations to support manufacturing and production schedules.
- Pull and identify parts from inventory according to bills of material and job requirements.
- Accurately kit specified materials and raw components for customer-specific jobs and deliver them to the appropriate production lines or external suppliers in a timely manner.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organized condition, following established procedures and safety practices.
- Read bills of material and accurately transact material movements in the electronic inventory tracking system as required.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records within business systems.
- Support loading and unloading of trucks, including handling pallets and materials with appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics by modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values in daily work.
- Show strong customer focus by supporting on-time delivery and accurate material handling for internal and external customers.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and embrace an inclusive, team-oriented workplace.
- Produce high-quality work by following procedures, minimizing errors, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement by identifying and supporting new and better ways of handling materials and inventory.
- Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines and production schedules.
- Apply sound judgment in problem solving and decision making related to material flow, inventory discrepancies, and prioritization.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, production staff, and team members regarding material status, issues, and priorities.
Essential Skills
