Job Description

The Set Up Technician performs mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment, sets up, shuts down, and restarts machinery, and supports mold changes and related assembly and disassembly activities in a plastic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Perform electrical repairs and adjustments on production equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Set up production equipment for scheduled runs, including configuring parameters and preparing tooling.
• Shut down production equipment safely and systematically at the end of runs or shifts.
• Restart production equipment after maintenance, changeovers, or downtime, verifying proper operation.
• Assist with mold changes on plastic injection and blow molding equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble molds and related components as needed for production and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues on plastic injection and blow molding equipment to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize and complete equipment-related tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform mechanical repairs on production equipment.
• Ability to perform electrical repairs on production equipment.
• Experience setting up, shutting down, and restarting production equipment.
• Hands-on experience with plastic manufacturing processes, including plastic injection and blow molding.
• Ability to assist with mold changes and perform assembly and disassembly of molds.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for plastic injection mold and blow mold equipment.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work effectively on a night shift schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Education related to manufacturing, maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
• Certifications related to manufacturing, maintenance, or a related field are a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a largely climate-controlled production facility, providing a comfortable environment throughout most of the work area. Openings are available on the night shift, specifically a front-half schedule from Sunday to Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The position involves working around plastic injection and blow molding equipment and requires adherence to all plant safety and operational procedures.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lees Summit, MO.

The pay range for this position is $53000.00 - $56000.00/yr.
