Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience working with students with cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles
• Organizational skills and flexibility in dynamic classroom settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess individualized instructional programs for students with special needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement and socio-emotional development
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Communicate regularly with families to share progress and address concerns
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure all students receive the appropriate accommodations and modifications
