Job Title: Data Entry ClerkJob DescriptionThe Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining technical data across various systems and platforms. This role supports multiple departments by ensuring data integrity, generating reports, and responding to data-related inquiries within a manufacturing office environment.
Responsibilities- Interpret family drawings and bill of materials (BOM) information and accurately enter and update data into databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of information before inputting data into any system.
- Perform regular data audits to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information, and correct issues promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information in accordance with company policies and best practices.
- Generate reports and summaries as needed to support internal stakeholders and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure data consistency and alignment across systems and processes.
- Respond to data-related inquiries from internal teams and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Adapt to changing priorities and adjust work focus as needed to support business requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency and accuracy of data management.
Essential Skills- Proven data entry experience, including working with technical data in an administrative support or data entry capacity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data input, manipulation, and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately capture and enter technical information.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and data quality.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with other departments and respond to data-related inquiries.
- Ability and willingness to work as a team player in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working with ERP systems; familiarity with Sage ERP is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of bill of materials (BOM) structures and manufacturing-related documentation.
- Comfort working with technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial office environment is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain structured and well-documented records.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in the office section of a manufacturing facility, with limited time spent on the production floor. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves working primarily at a computer using Microsoft Office and an ERP system (Sage) to manage data. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided when it is necessary to enter the production floor. The dress code is business casual, with jeans acceptable and closed-toe shoes required. The environment is collaborative and focused on accuracy, data integrity, and supporting manufacturing operations through reliable information management.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
