Step into an opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with a small group of 6th and 7th graders. This contract role is available for the upcoming academic year, beginning August 17, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027. You’ll be instrumental in delivering tailored instructional support, collaborating with colleagues, and fostering a positive environment for students to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional math and ELA support in 6th grade, and co-teach science and social studies in 7th grade
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 14 students
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for team-based instruction
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote student engagement, growth, and independence
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and communicate regularly with families
• Foster a safe, encouraging classroom culture where students feel supported

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Previous experience teaching in a middle school setting, preferably with 6th and 7th graders
• Proficiency with differentiated instruction and team-teaching models
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for supporting students’ academic and personal development

Position Details:

• Contract role: August 17, 2026 – June 4, 2027
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 3:15pm, 32.75 hours per week (42-minute unpaid lunch)
