Step into a rewarding role supporting 4th and 5th grade students as a Learning Behavior Specialist in a contract, onsite position located in the Chicago Ridge area near Cicero, IL. This opportunity focuses on fostering student growth and development within a self-contained classroom, working closely with students who have diverse academic needs and individualized education plans. Your expertise will help students thrive as they transition between specialized instruction and inclusive activities with their general education peers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Illinois professional educator license with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience teaching or supporting students with IEPs, particularly in reading and math
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deliver differentiated instruction
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• A passion for helping elementary students reach their full potential in an inclusive setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in reading and math to 11 fifth graders and 6 fourth graders for reading, 8 fifth graders and 5 fourth graders for math
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate successful mainstreaming during specials, lunch, recess, and social studies/science
• Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that values each student's unique strengths
• Engage in ongoing communication with families and support staff
