Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician operates and maintains production equipment, ensures consistent product quality, and supports continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on machine operation with troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and quality control, while working closely with team members to meet production targets and uphold safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and optimal performance throughout each shift.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
- Follow established production schedules, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to meet output and quality targets.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve production processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and quality enhancements.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of production data, equipment maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, use required protective equipment, and actively promote a safe working environment.
- Assist in training new employees on manufacturing procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Maintain an understanding of different types of raw materials and ensure they are used at the appropriate manufacturing locations.
- Check the quality of products during and after production, ensuring they meet defined specifications and standards.
- Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products using appropriate tools and equipment to verify compliance with quality requirements.
- Inform the shift supervisor promptly about product quality concerns, equipment problems, and safety issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping and 5S principles where applicable.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the company as operational needs arise.

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment of at least 1 year.
- Forklift experience and ability to safely operate a forklift as part of material handling duties.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a non-controlled environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical degree or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience with 5S or similar workplace organization and efficiency methodologies is preferred.
- Previous experience as a machine mechanic is preferred.
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience is preferred.
- Experience operating overhead cranes is preferred.
- Quality control experience, including inspection, measurement, and documentation, is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints is preferred.
- Experience in production, assembly, and machine operation.
- Troubleshooting and machine maintenance.
- Familiarity with electrical concepts and equipment in an industrial setting.
- Experience with quality control practices and tools.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts in a plant environment.
