Job Title: Facilities TechnicianJob DescriptionThis Facilities Technician role focuses on maintaining landscaped areas in a commercial environment across a large outdoor property. You will work full-time at 40 hours per week for an initial period of 8–12 weeks, after which the position transitions to a PRN/on-call schedule for snow events and seasonal needs. The role involves operating and maintaining landscape equipment, performing general groundskeeping, and supporting seasonal tasks to keep the property safe, clean, and visually appealing.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform general landscape maintenance such as mowing, trimming, edging, and lawn care to keep grounds neat and well-groomed.
- Remove debris from landscaped areas, walkways, and other outdoor spaces to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Carry out weed control activities, including hand weeding and the use of appropriate tools, to preserve the health and appearance of lawns and plant beds.
- Perform seasonal landscape tasks, such as mulching, leaf removal, and other seasonal clean-up activities.
- Support winter assignments, including snow-related tasks during on-call snow events, to help maintain safe access to the property.
- Inspect landscape equipment regularly and report any issues or maintenance needs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines while performing daily tasks and operating equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to coordinate work, report progress, and address any issues promptly.
- Complete routine reports and basic documentation related to work performed, equipment usage, and any incidents or observations.
- Read and follow written instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Participate in occasional training or learning activities related to landscape maintenance, equipment use, and safety practices.
Essential Skills- 0–2 years of experience using landscape maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Ability to perform general labor and landscaping tasks, including mowing, weeding, and basic groundskeeping.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and basic correspondence related to daily work activities.
- Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
- Capability to work safely and efficiently in an outdoor environment while operating equipment.
- Strong communication skills to cooperate with supervisors, clients, and team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with lawn mowing, trimming, and general lawn care in a commercial or large-property setting.
- Familiarity with weed control practices and maintaining landscaped areas.
