Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their corporate payroll team. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while providing excellent customer service and support to employees and management.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in payroll operations, compliance, reconciliations, and process improvement within a fast-paced environment.
Key
Responsibilities
- Process U.S. and Canadian payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
- Review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve processing issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and ensure accuracy of payroll records.
- Assist with payroll compliance requirements, including tax documentation such as W-2s and Form 941.
- Provide professional payroll support and guidance to employees and management.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll procedures, documentation, and standard operating processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to payroll systems and processes.
- Assist with additional payroll projects and reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of general office, accounting, or related administrative experience; payroll experience preferred.
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and mathematical calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with payroll systems, timekeeping systems, or HRIS platforms is preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and securely
