We are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting and accounting activities related to employee benefit plans in Fort Worth, Texas. This role partners with internal teams, external service providers, and auditors to support accurate reporting, regulatory filings, and timely forecasting. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to improve processes in a structured accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting and reporting for retirement benefit plans and trust-related activity in alignment with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare benefit plan disclosures for quarterly and annual filings, including support for Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reporting.
• Complete and review Form 11-K filings, benefit plan financial statements, and the financial sections of Form 5500 submissions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, third-party administrators, and external auditors to facilitate accurate accounting treatment and successful plan audits.
• Support recurring reporting packages and quarterly deliverables provided to the parent organization regarding benefit plan activity.
• Monitor actuarial assumptions and plan-related financial impacts to inform monthly forecasts and external reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entry review, and month-end close activities tied to employee benefit plans.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting workflows and implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a comparable corporate financial environment.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting standards and U.S. GAAP.
• Ability to analyze accounting issues, research guidance, and recommend appropriate reporting treatment.
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Familiarity with benefit plan reporting, including Form 11-K, Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and Form 5500, is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
• CPA, public accounting experience, or an advanced degree in accounting or business is preferred.
