Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Minnesota (or eligibility for licensure)
- Previous experience within school nursing, pediatric care, or community health strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes, medication administration, and state health regulations for schools
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and healthcare providers
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and adapt to fast-paced school settings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in documenting health care and reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, addressing injuries, illnesses, and chronic condition management
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
- Monitor and support students with individualized health plans, including diabetics, allergies, asthma, and more
- Act as a health resource for students, staff, and families on wellness and prevention
- Maintain accurate health records, ensure compliance with immunization requirements, and assist with health screenings
- Respond to emergencies and collaborate with local healthcare professionals when needed
