Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ well-being as a Licensed School Nurse with a K-8 caseload. Based near Minneapolis, you’ll collaborate alongside educators and families, making a meaningful difference in school communities. With a schedule of 32 hours per week, you’ll have the chance to build relationships with students while providing essential care and guidance.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
- Licensed School Nurse (LSN) certification or eligibility
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks independently
- Commitment to creating a safe, healthy learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to K-8 students, addressing illnesses, injuries, and chronic health needs
- Develop and implement individualized health plans
- Administer medications and maintain accurate, confidential health records
- Assess and monitor student health, responding to emergencies as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student health and wellness
- Participate in health education initiatives and advocate for best practices in school safety and hygiene
- Support students with special healthcare needs and facilitate access to necessary services
