Night Shift Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and auxiliary equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance, respond quickly to equipment issues, and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Positions are available on both 1st and 3rd shifts, working 12-hour shifts on a 4x2 rotating schedule with every other weekend included.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production and auxiliary production equipment to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
- Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance on all production machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance and operational readiness.
- Quickly diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on equipment and building systems.
- Analyze and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems to determine appropriate repair methods and implement effective solutions.
- Dismantle machines and equipment to inspect components, test functionality, and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Use tools such as calipers, tape measures, and other hand tools to perform precise measurements and adjustments during maintenance and repair activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to support troubleshooting and repair work.
- Work with 480V systems, 3-phase motors, VFDs, drives, and control panels, including panel signal work and PLC troubleshooting.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, including identifying faults in wiring, components, and control systems.
- Follow all safety procedures and take a proactive role in plant safety, ensuring that equipment and work practices conform to safety regulations.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and address them before they lead to equipment failure or downtime.
- Communicate daily issues, maintenance activities, and equipment status to supervisors and other employees as needed to support smooth operations.
- Collaborate with other team members to solve problems, support continuous improvement, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to address equipment issues and support process improvements in a lean manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Industrial electrical experience, including at least PLC troubleshooting, work with VFDs, drives, and panel signals.
- Manufacturing experience in an industrial or production environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for production and auxiliary equipment.
- Hands-on experience with 480V electrical systems and 3-phase motors.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools, calipers, tape measures, and related equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and document maintenance activities clearly.
- Capability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers and other stakeholders.
- Mathematical skills to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in daily work.
- Analytical skills for problem solving and participation in individual and group facilitation.
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mountain Top, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
