Job Description

A well-established civil litigation defense firm in the Prairie Village area is seeking a Kansas-licensed Attorney to join its growing practice. This position offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload focused on insurance defense and insurance coverage matters while working closely with experienced litigators in a collaborative environment.

The attorney will manage cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, attending court appearances, participating in mediations, and preparing cases for trial. The firm is looking for someone who enjoys litigation, values client service, and is eager to take ownership of their cases.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking hands-on litigation experience and the ability to work directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel on complex and challenging matters.

Requirements

• Active Kansas Bar license required (must-have).
• Experience handling civil litigation matters.
• Prior insurance defense and/or insurance coverage experience strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents.
• Ability to independently manage case responsibilities while collaborating with attorneys and support staff.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience conducting depositions, attending hearings, and participating in mediations is preferred.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Desire to grow within a long-term, team-oriented law firm environment.
