Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembly Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC machinery within the assembly department to produce precision bearings and related components. The successful candidate will ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. A commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced production setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, tapping presses, fit drills, and CNC assembly equipment.
• Assemble precision components according to engineering specifications.
• Select, install, and adjust fixtures, arbors, plugs, drill bits, taps, and press tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Inspect finished products using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and make process adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, CNC, or machining preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Basic shop math skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC machine operation and setup.
• Manufacturing or assembly experience in a production environment.
• Experience with precision components, bearings, or machining operations.

Work Environment

The role is based on the 2nd shift, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. The work environment is a fast-paced production setting where attention to detail and commitment to quality are crucial. The facility is equipped with advanced manual and CNC machinery, and employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
