Dietary Manager to lead foodservice operations within our skilled nursing community. In this role, you'll ensure regulatory compliance, high-quality meal service, and a safe, sanitary kitchen environment while delivering nutritious, resident-centered dining experiences.
SummaryThe Dietary Manager oversees all aspects of dietary services, including staff leadership, menu execution, budgeting, inventory, and compliance with state, federal, and company standards. This role works closely with interdisciplinary teams and Registered Dietitians to support resident health, satisfaction, and quality of life.
This role may also be known as:Dietary Manager, Food Service Director, Nutrition Services Manager, Food Service Manager, or Dining Services Manager.
What You'll Do- Supervise dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal dietary regulations, company policies, and ASI standards
- Plan and oversee meal preparation based on dietitian-approved menus
- Maintain departmental budgets, manage inventory, and order food and supplies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care
- Uphold sanitation, infection control, and food safety standards
- Participate in resident care planning and coordinate with Registered Dietitians
- Communicate professionally with inspectors, surveyors, and regulatory agencies
- Support continuous improvement in dining services and resident satisfaction
What You BringQualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in dietary management, meal planning, and foodservice operations
- Dietary managerial experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations
