Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480V in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Maintain, calibrate, and diagnose instrumentation such as transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Perform advanced electrical and control troubleshooting within a continuous-process operation to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
- Support process automation activities, including loop checks, control system testing, and system reliability improvements.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and related technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and other production machinery.
- Perform mechanical rebuilds, alignments, equipment installations, and routine and preventive inspections on rotating and fixed equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures in a high-volume chemical or industrial process environment and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support reliability programs, preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, and equipment improvement initiatives to enhance uptime and performance.
- Use tools such as blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to plan and execute maintenance and repair work.
- Perform testing and service of electrical and electronic components, including motor and pump control systems.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of equipment and systems.
Essential Skills
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with industrial instrumentation and electrical systems, including calibration and diagnostics.
- Ability to interpret and apply electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and related documentation in daily work.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems up to 480V.
- Experience with industrial PLCs or DCS systems, including basic troubleshooting and support of automation systems.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience in a chemical plant or other heavy industrial setting.
- Proficiency with pump repair, rotating equipment, and mechanical drive systems, including alignments and rebuilds.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and process equipment documentation.
- Demonstrated experience working with control systems, motor control, and pump control in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in using tools and methods for electrical maintenance, control system troubleshooting, and automation support.
- Experience in troubleshooting, testing, and servicing electronics in a maintenance technician capacity.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with pneumatics and related control systems in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Exposure to programming or configuration of PLCs, DCS, or other industrial automation systems.
- Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and reliability-focused maintenance initiatives.
- Comfort working with advanced process systems, high-pressure equipment, and complex operational controls in a structured environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Decatur, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $44.00/hr.
