Step into an impactful contract role supporting students’ communication skills in a dynamic educational setting near Portage, IN. This opportunity is available as a substitute while the primary Speech-Language Pathologist is on FMLA for the first 12 weeks of the school year, from August 10th through the end of October. You’ll serve two elementary buildings, collaborating with an assigned Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) and working with a larger caseload (117 students). Virtual candidates are welcome to apply, as we are open to VOCO arrangements.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
• Prior experience working in school-based settings, preferably with elementary-aged students
• Indiana state licensure (or eligibility) for SLP practice
• Strong organization skills to manage larger caseloads and coordinate with SLAs
• Excellent communication abilities for working with students, staff, and families
• Comfortable with both in-person and/or virtual service delivery

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students in assigned elementary schools
• Supervise and collaborate with an assigned Speech-Language Assistant to effectively manage the caseload
• Conduct assessments, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and monitor student progress
• Partner with school staff and families to support each student’s needs
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
