Job Title: Lab Tech IJob DescriptionThe Lab Tech I supports quality control activities by coordinating the receipt and testing of samples, entering data into laboratory computer systems, and performing routine analytical testing of pharmaceutical products. This role involves operating basic laboratory instrumentation, interpreting test data, and contributing to the accuracy and reliability of quality control results in a GMP laboratory setting.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the receipt, labeling, and tracking of samples to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Perform routine analytical testing on pharmaceutical products in support of quality control requirements.
- Operate basic laboratory instruments, including analytical balances, total carbon analyzers, spectrophotometers, and pH meters.
- Accurately input test data and sample information into laboratory computer applications and databases.
- Conduct preliminary data interpretation to assess test results and identify potential issues or inconsistencies.
- Follow established GMP laboratory procedures, protocols, and documentation practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work area in accordance with internal standards.
- Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot basic instrumentation or testing issues and escalate when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other laboratory personnel regarding sample status, test results, and any observed deviations.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet testing timelines and support overall laboratory operations.
Essential Skills- 0–3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a GMP laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in basic lab instrumentation, including analytical balances, total carbon analyzers, spectrophotometers, and pH meters.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry, or an associate degree in a related scientific discipline.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate testing, data entry, and documentation.
- Ability to stay well organized when handling multiple samples, tests, and data entries.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and use of laboratory software applications.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and report findings clearly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in a laboratory environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with pharma or biotech quality control testing is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with GMP laboratory practices and documentation standards.
- Ability to learn and follow detailed standard operating procedures.
- Capacity to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based 100% on-site in a GMP laboratory setting in Waco, TX. The role is a 6-month contract and involves working with pharmaceutical products and standard analytical instrumentation such as analytical balances, total carbon analyzers, spectrophotometers, and pH meters. The work is performed in a controlled laboratory environment that requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. The schedule is first shift, with typical hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position may follow either a Tuesday–Saturday schedule or a Monday–Friday schedule, depending on operational needs. Laboratory attire such as appropriate clothing and any required personal protective equipment is expected to maintain safety and compliance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
