This vital role involves working at two assigned schools—one middle school and one elementary school—with hours from 8:10 a.m. to 3:10 p.m., providing essential psychological services to young learners. You’ll have the chance to make a genuine impact, collaborating within supportive educational communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations in accordance with IEP requirements
- Participating in IEP meetings, providing expertise in developing effective intervention strategies
- Consulting and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being
- Supporting and counseling students with diverse academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Offering crisis intervention, prevention services, and short-term individual or group counseling
- Assisting in the development and progress monitoring of behavior plans
- Documentation and adherence to all relevant state and federal guidelines
Skills and qualifications we’re seeking:
- Valid School Psychologist certification/license (State requirement)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage and track caseloads (123 IEP students at the middle school, 102 at the elementary level)
- Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support and special education law
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate and collaborative approach to working with students, families, and colleagues
