The nation’s largest provider of mobile diagnostic services, is seeking a skilled General & Vascular Sonographer to provide high-quality portable ultrasound services throughout the Columbia, South Carolina region. This role offers autonomy, variety, strong team support, and opportunities for professional growth.
Position Summary
The Sonographer will travel to nursing homes, home care facilities, prisons, and other care sites to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable ultrasound equipment. Images are transmitted digitally to radiologists for interpretation.
-> Key Responsibilities
- Perform portable general and vascular ultrasound examinations
- Obtain technically diagnostic, high-quality images
- Verify physician orders and patient identifiers before each exam
- Transmit images digitally for radiologist interpretation
- Communicate with dispatch, facility staff, and supervisory teams
- Maintain equipment and company vehicle
- Complete required documentation and billing paperwork
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Respond promptly to urgent communications
-> Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program
- Current ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT vascular registration
- General and Vascular credentials required (examples: ARDMS RVT & AB, CCI RVS, or ARRT R.T.(VS))
- Current BLS certification
- Valid driver’s license
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption documentation

- Dual modality credentials
- Experience with portable or mobile ultrasound
- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Mobile imaging role with daily regional travel

- Lift and transport portable ultrasound equipment (18–20 lbs.)
