Job Description

Imagine operating a powerful machine that draws metal wire through several small holes, making it thinner, smoother, and the precise size required. As a Multi-Hole Machine Operator, you will ensure the flawless operation of this machinery.

Responsibilities

• Start up the machine and ensure correct metal feeding.
• Monitor the machine to ensure smooth operation.
• Measure the metal to verify correct sizing.
• Address minor issues, such as adjusting settings or clearing jams.
• Adhere to safety protocols while operating powerful machinery.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in manufacturing or machine operation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools, metal fabrication, and measuring tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Enjoy hands-on work and working with machines and tools.
• Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
• Appreciation for steady, routine work.
• Experience in assembly, forklift operation, and construction is a plus.

Work Environment

Operate in a 300,000 sq. ft. facility with advanced machinery for bar and wire processing. The clean, organized layout includes zones for drawing, annealing, cutting, and finishing, featuring high-tech equipment like 'The Gillette' back die shaver and 'The Diablo' batch furnace. The 2nd shift runs from 3 PM to 11 PM with a $0.50/hour shift differential, emphasizing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $22.50/hr.
