QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of progressive grant writing and grants management experience
· Demonstrated track record of securing private, corporate, and government grant funding
· Strong written, verbal, analytical, and project management skills
· Proficiency with MS Office Suite, CRM systems, and grant-making platforms
· Ability to interpret program goals, outcomes, budgets, and logic models to ensure alignment with grant criteria
· Experience leading cross-departmental collaboration for reporting and compliance
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and guide others in meeting required deliverables
· Strong research skills with proven ability to identify and evaluate funding opportunities
· Understanding of nonprofit finance fundamentals, restricted funding, and compliance requirements
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
· Alignment with and respect for The Salvation Army’s mission and philosophy
· Must pass a criminal background check
· Ability to attend occasional meetings or site visits as required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Grants Leadership
· Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive regional grants strategy for So NV
· Serve as the primary grants manager for the region, ensuring alignment with TSA CRD policies, Area Command priorities, and divisional fundraising goals
· Manage the full lifecycle of private, corporate, and government grants from prospecting to submission to reporting
· Coordinate closely with the Reg. Development Director and Area Coordinating Officer to secure approvals, strengthen applications, and advance significant grant opportunities
· Establish annual revenue goals in collaboration with Community Relations & Development Territorial standards; track progress and adjust strategy as needed
Grant Writing & Proposal Development
· Prepare, write, or oversee high-quality proposals, LOIs, applications, and supporting documents for new and existing grants
· Develop, maintain, & update standardized grant templates, organizational information packets, & proposal language
· Research new public and private funding opportunities that align with current and emerging program needs
· Ensure all proposals reflect accurate program descriptions, case statements, funding gaps, and outcome measures
Grant Reporting, Compliance & Cross-Team Coordination
· Manage and lead Southern Nevada’s grant reporting pipeline, coordinating and supporting all program staff, finance staff, and Corps Officers to submit timely and accurate data
· Coordinate reporting and compliance requirements across the SONV team, including timelines, assigned responsibilities, and document collection
· Ensure adherence to funder requirements, TSA policies, audit standards, and government regulations
· Maintain master calendar for deadlines, reporting timelines, site visits, monitoring, and renewals
· Partner with Finance to ensure alignment of budgets, expenditures, and outcomes for all restricted grants
· Review all reports prior to submission for accuracy, narrative strength, and compliance
· Systems Administration & Data Management
· Manage Southern Nevada’s access and permissions to grant funding portals, databases, government systems, and required registration platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, JustGrants, GOE, city/county portals)
· Serve as the regional point of contact for maintaining active registrations, passwords, and compliance documentation
· Ensure all prospecting, submission, outcomes, and reporting records are fully documented in the CRM system according to TSA policy
· Maintain an organized digital library of proposals, attachments, budgets, and historical submissions
Internal Collaboration & Support
· Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to Corps Officers, program staff, and volunteers involved in grant-related activities
· Collaborate with program leadership to understand program models, outcomes, and funding gaps
· Support the development of new programs or expansion of existing ones by identifying viable grant opportunities
· Maintain strong working relationships with city, county, state, and federal agencies to enhance visibility into public
