Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel/Gas Technician to join our team. This full-time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including trucks and automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with various diagnostic tools are highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the maintenance of essential machinery across multiple industries.
Duties
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and complete engine rebuilds per manufacturer standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, and emissions systems using diagnostic tools.
- Document all labor and work performed accurately.
- Communicate repair timelines and updates to the Service Manager.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of diesel or automotive technician experience preferred.
- ASE certification(s) or equivalent experience (shop covers ASE testing).
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repair; dealership experience is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Knowledge of transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, tire service, and welding techniques
- Experience working with industrial equipment including Caterpillar machinery or similar brands
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks requiring heavy lifting
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is a plus
