Job Description

Join our team as a Diesel Technician, where you will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on yard trucks, focusing on electrical systems, computer diagnostics, and emission systems. Your role will involve welding, fabrication, and maintaining air brake systems while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on yard trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring and battery systems.
• Conduct computer and emission system repairs.
• Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
• Repair and maintain air brake systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
• Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel mechanics or related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• DOT/Medical card certification.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks (stooping, climbing, kneeling).
• Must own a complete set of quality hand tools (preferred).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding experience and familiarity with DPF/DEF systems.

Work Environment

Work will primarily be outdoors in the elements at the ports. The position is on the 2nd Shift, running from 2:00pm to 10:30pm Monday to Friday, with a mandatory half shift on Sundays from 6:00am to 12:00pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Savannah, GA.

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $58240.00/yr.
