ROLE OVERVIEW
Ensure EPA and OSHA compliance, as well as compliance with local and state regulatory statutes
MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare permit applications and supply substantiating data for new/renewal process permits.
· Prepare and submit all required federal, state and local governmental safety and environment reports.
· Ensure compliance with ISO 14001:2004, including implementing and maintaining requirements; conducting audits, maintaining records.
· Oversee control of contractor, supplier, and vendor EMS agreements.
· Prepare EPA federal and state reports.
· Maintain Waste Water effluent release reports.
· Lead, support, and direct efforts to achieve the safety, industrial hygiene and environmental goals.
· Lead and motivate direct reports (health/safety/wastewater).
· Involve and engage employees to participate in the safety committee so as to develop an employee-driven safety culture
· Investigate and/or respond to employee concerns and issues relative to safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental issues.
· Investigate all work-related injuries/illnesses/near misses, including workers compensation claims.
· Develop and deliver all EH&S compliance training. Including forklift, aerial lift, hazwoper, RCRA, DOT, and Lock Out/Tag Out.
· Conduct housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space.
· Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations associated with this job.
· Aid in identifying training needs. Conduct on-going training regarding safety for all employees.
· Understand and comply with requirements of all rules and regulations.
· Conduct environmental audits and other BMP’s. As well as OSHA audits and checks including fire extinguishers.
· Attend/participate in all scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position.
