Role: Senior Tax Accountant

Experience: 8+ years Public Accounting Experience
Licensure: CPA or EA required (or in progress)

Core Responsibilities:

• Review work prepared by junior staff and offer guidance on complex tax matters
• Prepare complex individual and business tax returns (S corps, partnerships, high-net-worth clients)
• Conduct client meetings and assist with tax planning and strategy development
• Communicate proactively with clients regarding tax positions, deadlines, and planning opportunities

Performance Standards:

• Billable Hours: 1,900 annually within a 2,300-hour work year
• Realization Rate: 90% or higher
• Quality: Deliver accurate, technically sound work with minimal review notes; raise issues proactively
• Timeliness: Meet deadlines and maintain client satisfaction with turnaround time

Additional Expectations:

• Mentor junior team members and help guide staff development
• Lead small project teams when appropriate
• Participate in process improvement discussions and help identify efficiencies or cost-saving measures
• Stay current on tax law changes and apply knowledge to client situations

Preferred Experience:

• 8+ years of tax experience in public accounting
• Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation
• Experience with CCH Axcess, CCH Engagement, and QuickBooks is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
