The Civil construction estimator position must have a minimum of 5+ years experience as a civil construction estimator with DOT experience a must. The estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of projects and materials as well as working with a variety of team members, including construction crews, purchasing agents, and other managers to determine how much it will cost to complete a project in a timely manner.

This position requires a strong understanding of:

• Asphalt paving
• Site grading
• Earthwork
• Storm drainage
• Underground utilities
• Erosion control
• Concrete and site improvements
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs

A candidate’s key skills and qualifications include:

• Proficiency in math, statistics, data analysis, and analytical
• Strategic planning skills
• Familiarity with developing material and cost estimates for large projects
• Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and project management software
• Strong computer, communication, and organization skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
