Estimator - Heavy Civil ConstructionBuild Winning Bids. Help Deliver Critical Infrastructure Projects.
We're seeking a motivated Estimator to join a growing heavy civil construction team. In this role, you'll play a key part in securing and launching successful infrastructure projects by developing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project risks, and collaborating with operations and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs using Agtek 4D, Bluebeam, and HCSS HeavyBid.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to fully understand project requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure complete bid coverage.
- Analyze costs, production rates, and historical data to develop competitive estimates.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and proposal development.
- Prepare scope letters outlining bid inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
- Coordinate project turnover to Project Management teams following project award.
- Support preconstruction activities, budgeting, scheduling, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and buyouts.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify risks, opportunities, and project execution strategies.
QualificationsRequired- 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, highway, or infrastructure construction.
- Experience with site development, utilities, bridge work, earthwork, paving, or concrete projects.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek 4D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, and takeoff procedures.
- Experience working with subcontractors, procurement processes, and bid solicitation.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the New York Metro market.
- Knowledge of RFIs, change orders, submittals, buyouts, and project cost control.
- Exposure to project management or field operations.
- Desire to grow into a Senior Estimator role.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
