We're looking for an energetic, passionate, and growth-minded Assistant Director of Training / Head Coach who thrives in a leadership role, loves coaching people, and wants to play a meaningful part in building a high-performing team and business.
This position is ideal for someone who wants to spend the majority of their time doing what they love—coaching clients—while also developing leadership skills in trainer mentorship, member retention, marketing, and business operations.
Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Training / Head Coach serves as a key leader within the coaching team and works closely with the Director of Training to deliver an exceptional member experience.
Approximately 65-75% of the role is dedicated to coaching sessions, leading personalized small-group personal training sessions and helping members achieve sustainable results through individualized programming and accountability.
The remaining responsibilities focus on supporting the growth of the business through team development, member engagement, retention initiatives, sales support, and marketing efforts.
What You'll Do
Coaching & Member Experience (65-75%)
Lead high-energy, results-driven personal training sessions
Deliver individualized coaching within Alloy's proven small-group training system
Build strong relationships with members and create an exceptional member experience
Ensure members feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and celebrated
Provide exercise modifications and coaching solutions for a wide variety of fitness levels
Track member progress and help clients stay accountable to their goals
Leadership & Team Development
Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, and excellence in coaching
Support the Director of Training in developing and mentoring coaches
Participate in weekly coaches' meetings
Review upcoming programming and exercise modifications with the coaching team
Help ensure coaching consistency and adherence to Alloy standards
Foster a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and member-first service
Member Retention & Relationship Building
Conduct accountability sessions with members at regular intervals
Build meaningful relationships that drive long-term retention
Celebrate member milestones, achievements, and success stories
Participate in member appreciation and engagement initiatives, including member events and community-building activities
Sales Support
Assist the Director with booking SPS (starting point) sessions as needed
Support prospective member follow up, consultations, and onboarding efforts
Help convert leads into long-term members through education and relationship building
Reinforce the value of Alloy's coaching and programming
Marketing & Community Engagement
Support local marketing initiatives and community outreach events
Assist with studio events, promotions, and referral campaigns
Create and share engaging social media content
Highlight member success stories, community events, and studio culture
Support execution of Alloy's monthly marketing initiatives and member challenges
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Nationally accredited personal training certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent)
CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
Proven coaching experience in personal training, small-group training, or a related fitness environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with members from diverse backgrounds
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
