JOB TITLE: Driver Manager
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
SUMMARY: The driver manager position optimizes the utilization of company resources by managing dedicated Auto Haulers throughout our freight network in service to our customers. This position is primarily responsible for building and maintaining high quality relationships with drivers, managing driver performance, and providing the necessary support to ensure optimal efficiency.

- Provide daily supervision of assigned drivers and monitors to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.
- Understand and apply company guidelines,policiesand/or procedures in diverse situations.
- Continually assess the service level and provide recommendations toregional management andnetworklogisticsregardingopportunities to improve operational performance.
- Monitor and manage Auto Haulerperformanceindicators and factorsimpactingoperational effectiveness.
- Monitor and manage productivity, service, quality,training, maintenance,and safety targets for each Auto Hauler
- Promote andmonitorAuto Hauler safety and take proactive steps to create a positive safety culture.
- Embrace, promote and lead continuous improvement efforts, includingselectionand implementation of dispatch processes, systems, and personnel.
- Monitor daily truck revenue goals – explain variances from companystandard.
- Monitor and manage driver attendance to ensure drivers and trucks are beingutilizedfor full days and full weeks.
- Monitor loads dispatched to drivers and work with Network Logistics to maximize driver earnings and company revenue.
- Establish andmaintaina positive relationship with all drivers. Create a driver experience that is number one in the industry.
- Partnerwithlogisticsto developefficienciesregardinghaulingmaximumload factor, reducing empty miles, conserving fuel, reducing idle time, etc. byutilizingavailable technology
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has supervisory responsibilities for Auto Haulers. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Responsibility for managing performance and relevant performance feedback, providing motivation and encouragement
- Interpreting policy and ensuring policy compliance to includeexecution ofprogressive discipline for policy violations.
- Scheduling and managingtime and attendance
- Managing Auto Hauler complaints andmonitoring satisfaction levels
- Monitoring Auto Hauler production and handling inquiriesrelativeto pay and incentive programs
- May berequiredto perform other supervisory duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Associate or Technical Degree in Logistics, Transportation,Businessor related field preferred
- Experienceinlogisticsand dispatch, preferably within auto hauling distribution.
- Demonstrated experience leading, directing, communicatingchangeand developing a team strongly desired.
- Knowledge of transportation enterprise software applications.
- Working knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance.
- Solid written and oral skills with a strong ability to work with others
- Aptitude to gain further competency in transportation analysis tools
- Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules,regulationsand safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of TMW andPeopleNeta plus.
- Ability tomaintaina high levelof accuracy and completion in preparing and entering information.
- Highly organized, proficient in prioritization, attention todetailandpossessinga high levelof accuracy.
- Ability to provide positive reinforcement andpossessa positive attitude.
- Mustpossessabilityto providetimelyfollow up to drivers andmanagement.
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
